On the occasion of the International Day for the white stick

A delegation from the General Command of Ajman Police visited the Emirates Association for the Visually Impaired in the Emirate of Sharjah, where the delegation made a number of copies of the book flashes of thought, in Braille, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Amir, in addition to a number of sticks, specially designed for the blind, on the occasion of the International Day for the white stick, which falls on the fifteenth of the month of October of each year. The delegation during the visit reassured the safety of guests Assembly and the health, of the blind, and inspected the conditions, also briefed on the various assembly sections, and the services it provides, and the exchange of delegation chatted with guests Assembly, the delegation presented congratulations on this occasion, and wished them good health and happiness. Ghafli pointed out that the Association organizes social, cultural and sporting activities, for various blind in the UAE, is not limited to its internal activities only, but also organizes external events. The Chairman of the Committee of Public Relations and Media, he decides to be considered on October 15 of each year as the International Day of the stick white, as a hallmark of the blind, and this has come at the direction of the World Council for the Blind, where the United Nations issued a statement that will be on October 15 of each General globally days to stick white, has the World Blind Union, which was founded in 1948, this benign procedure approved, and even encouraged to increase knowledge and understanding of the rights and needs of the blind, so that by the white stick knows every human being, whether he was driving or walking on foot in the street. And between the white cane draws everyone's attention to the one who holds the blind needs help and to express safely from one place to another and for the blind the right to access to public places such as the sighted, and this means that they have the right to carry with them the white sticks through roaming inside these places and buildings offices, restaurants, theaters, museums, shops and places of work and in buses, cars, trains, planes and all public places, this law has been issued by the international Federation for the Blind to confirm that the blind have the same rights that anyone else.
