The Drug Police Department at Ajman Police held a coordination meeting with the Ajman Education Zone to discuss the mechanism for implementing the National Document for Student Awareness, which is the main reference for the awareness and preventive framework of the Khalifa Program for Empowering Students. Lt. Col. Al-Naimi also clarified the role of the Drug Enforcement Administration in implementing the program, as the General Administration for Combating Drugs worked to develop a focused, educational, scientific material for students during the academic years of the eighth and eleventh grade, as it is the period in which the groups dealing with drugs and psychotropic substances are concentrated, stressing The main goal that the Narcotics Control Department seeks is to educate students and inform them of the risks of this problem and its health, psychological, and social harm to it and the family and society, and how to deal with the pressures of bad friends and other factors influencing the drive towards this serious scourge. He added that the Ministry of Health will raise awareness of the issue of smoking, which may be the main cause of drug use and addiction, so the ministry’s awareness and preventive activities are directed towards working to promote the rejection of any pressures or motives that affect students ’attitudes toward smoking. For his part, Mr. Ali Khalifa Al Shaali, Head of Activities and Environment in Ajman Educational Zone, spoke about the importance of student awareness and its role in evaluating student behavior and protecting it from falling into the scourge of drugs, stressing that student awareness is not limited to a specific party, but all efforts must be combined for all ministries, institutions and bodies To support the work of the security agencies concerned with drug control, who have left no stone unturned in protecting the homeland and members of society from this scourge by exerting more effort to spread awareness and warning young people from the serious and devastating effects of drug use and the legal consequences on that.
