Ajman Police discusses ways to combat counterfeit goods with Arab Anti-Piracy Union

Colonel Abdullah Saif Al Matroushi, Deputy Director General of Police Operations Department, received Mr. Paulo Pereira, Regional Director of React, Ms. Ola Khudair, Director General of the Arab Anti-Piracy Federation, and Mr. Ahmed Tawfiq, Senior Manager of American Anti-Piraeus Alliance Operations. Jaber Al Shamsi, Director of the Comprehensive Police Stations Department, Yahia Khalaf Al Matroushi, Head of Hamidiya Police Station, and a number of Ajman police officers.

The Deputy Director of Police Operations Department welcomed the attendance and thanked them for their efforts in the protection of intellectual property rights. He also discussed the mechanism to enhance the fight against counterfeit goods. He also stressed the partnership of a number of government agencies in Ajman and the police in combating counterfeit goods.

Colonel Abdullah Al Matroushi said that Ajman Police is exerting every effort to limit the crimes of counterfeit goods, stressing that it has been able to arrest a number of criminals in this field and to submit them to the competent authorities, and confiscated all goods seized during the previous period.

At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Director of Police Operations stressed the need for coordination and cooperation on the mechanism of work with all parties so that the outputs of this mechanism will be presented at the conference. The two sides also exchanged commemorative shields, and they wish to continue cooperation in supporting the protection of intellectual property rights.
