Ajman Police Participates in Workshop on Original and Counterfeit Goods

A number of officers of the Ajman Police General Command participated in a workshop on the distinction between original and counterfeit goods, organized by the legal group of the Intellectual Property Department, with the participation of police officers, the Department of Economic Development, the Port Department, Customs and Ajman Free Zone Authority.

The workshop was attended by Lt. Col. Ali Jabr Al Shamsi, Director of the Comprehensive Centers Department, Yahia Khalaf Al Matroushi, Head of Hamidiya Police Station, Major Ibrahim Al Shehhi, Director of Criminal Investigation Branch, and a number of Ajman police officers.

The workshop was presented by Mr. Hatem Abdul Ghani, Director of the intellectual property department of the legal group, and reviewed the most important and successful seizures of the owners of the world famous brands seized in the Emirate by Ajman police efforts. He spoke about the variety of seizure categories among bags, shoes, The seizures lie in the knowledge and knowledge of the inspectors on how to differentiate between original and counterfeit products.

The Director of the Intellectual Property Department also reviewed original samples of the world's most famous brands, compared them with counterfeit samples of the same brand, and clarified the differences that distinguish original goods from imitation.

During the workshop, participants discussed the latest ways to support the fight against counterfeit goods and commercial fraud, including supporting enhanced training to develop the skill, efficiency and expertise of human resources in the field of inspection and the development of organizational units for economic crimes in the police. This facilitates and speeds up seizures and reduces the chances of successful imitators promoting their counterfeit goods .

At the end of the workshop, Lt. Col. Ali Jabr Al Shamsi, Director of the Comprehensive Police Centers Department, presented the legal group represented by Mr. Hatem Abdul Ghani to organize this workshop, stressing the importance of continued cooperation between the Ajman police and the participating government departments to confront the phenomenon of commercial fraud.
