After the inspection, the police confirmed that the accident was a result of the child climbing over the balcony wall.

Regarding the circumstances of the accident, Lt. Col. Ghaith Khalifa Al-Kaabi, head of Al-Nuaimiya Police Department, said that a report was received from a building guard in Al-Nuaimiya district, stating that a child had fallen to the ground from the apartment of his relatives. Next to it is an electronic tablet device (iPad).

During this moment, he heard his mother screaming from the fourth floor when she saw her child and the police and ambulances around him.

He mentioned that the apartment and the location of the child’s fallout were shown to show that the balcony fulfills the requirements for safety and security and that it is higher than the child’s height level except that the child was able to climb it and jump from the top of the iron fence, explaining that the child’s mother mentioned that she was carrying her second younger child and trying to hypnotize while the other was playing For a while, he disappeared and did not think that he could open the balcony door, exit, and then fall.

The head of Al-Naimiya Police Department confirmed that this is the first incident that occurs in the area of Al-Naimiya during this year and that fall incidents decreased years ago as a result of the concerted efforts by the Municipal and Planning and General Administration of Civil Defense to compel building owners to the requirements of security and safety in all buildings and for the police to compel them to install Cameras for the safety of the entire population.

He called on all parents to take caution by closing the doors and windows in a tight manner that is difficult for children to open, for the sake of safety and security of children's lives.
