Social Support in Ajman shares best practices at Dubai Foundation for Women and Children

In order to enhance societal partnership with various government agencies and institutions in the country, a delegation from the Social Support Center at the General Command of Ajman Police briefed during his visit to the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children Welfare the best practices applied to provide the best social care services, accommodation and empowerment for victims of family violence. The delegation included Captain Wafa Khalil Al Hosni, Director Ajman Social Support Center and a number of officers and individuals from Ajman Police, who were received by Professor Shams Al Muhairi, Director of Communication Department at Dubai Women and Children Care Foundation.

Professor Shams welcomed the attendees and praised the efforts made by the Social Support Center in Ajman Police through their permanent and continuous cooperation in resolving issues related to women and children that are transferred by them.

Then she became acquainted with the role of the Dubai Foundation for the Care of Women and Children in protecting victims of domestic violence, child abuse and victims of human trafficking, in order to give victims immediate shelter, protection and support services in line with international human rights instruments without regard to nationalities.

She also presented the institution's strategy of providing shelter services, social and psychological care for women and children subjected to violence, family empowerment and strengthening their bonds and cohesion, enhancing work with local and federal agencies and bodies to secure services, and working to enhance community awareness by providing educational lectures.

The stages of acceptance of the case were explained, whether the follow-up is external or internal to work on harboring it, the way to follow up the case after the end of the treatment period to solve the problem, the services provided by the institution for women and children as basic support that includes safe shelter and individual and family treatment of cases, psychological support and other services.

At the end of the visit, the delegation made a field tour at the Foundation to learn about its facilities and the mechanism for providing services, and Captain Wafa Khalil, Director of the Social Support Center in Ajman, thanked and appreciated the management of Dubai Foundation for Women and Children for the hospitality they received and cooperated in exchanging experiences and knowledge to serve the community.
