H. E. Major General Sheikh/ Sultan Abdullah Al Nu’aimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police and Head of the Local Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team of the Emirate of Ajman, stated that the result of the medical examination of the arrested bakery worker is negative, which does not indicate that he is suffering from Coronavirus disease, and H. E. announced a decision to compel all restaurants and bakeries in the Emirate to install permanent surveillance cameras to ensure the safety and health of community members.
H. E. explained that, in coordination with the competent authorities and in order to preserve the health and safety of consumers, the Local Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team, headed by His Excellency, issued a decision obligating the owners of all restaurants and bakeries in the Emirate of Ajman to install permanent surveillance cameras to ensure the quality, cleanliness and safety of foods in restaurants and bakeries. This occurred following the incident in which a bakery worker was spat on the dough while it was being prepared.
H. E. the Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, explained that after conducting the medical examination and taking a sample of the arrested worker by calling the specialized doctor, the result proved that he was free of the Novel Coronavirus, calling on the public to be reassured and not worried about the transmission of infection to them. The accused worker and the case file were transferred to the Public Prosecution to take the necessary legal procedures, indicating that the Ajman Police will not tolerate any tampering or contamination of food to the detriment or harm the safety of the community members.
H. E. Major General Sheikh/ Sultan Abdullah Al Nu’aimi called on the public to take all precautions to protect upon request from restaurants, stressing the importance of staying at home to limit the spread of the Coronavirus, and ensure the safety of everyone.
