The New Muslims Program in Ajman contributes to 47 inmates converting to Islam during 2024

The Punitive and Correctional Institution of the General Command of Ajman Police has achieved a distinguished achievement in its journey aimed at reforming and rehabilitating the institution’s inmates by converting 47 new inmates who renewed their conversion to Islam during the year 2024. Colonel Mohammed Mubarak Al Ghafli, Director of the Punitive and Correctional Institution Administration, said that the “New Muslims” program aims to spread the values of the Islamic religion and promote the principles of tolerance and coexistence among inmates, to educate them about the most important aspects of Islam and its teachings, which motivates them to express their personal desire to convert to Islam, as new Muslims obtain a certificate of declaring Islam from the Islamic Information Center, and courses to educate them about the most important aspects of Islam and its teachings. The Quran memorization program for inmates of the penal and correctional institution, in cooperation with the Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Center for Quran Service, also plays a major role in supporting the institution’s efforts. The number of participants in 2024 increased by 160% compared to 2023, from 21 different nationalities of inmates. For their part, the inmates expressed their happiness at taking the step of embracing Islam, noting that their decision came as a result of the humanitarian care they witnessed within the institution, in addition to the educational programs and lectures that provided them with a clear picture of the principles of Islam.
