Brigadier Abdullah Saif Al Matrooshi, Director General of Police Operations at Ajman Police General Command, honored an Arab woman for her sense of security and quick reflexes in alerting the police when she saw a child climbing onto the edge of a balcony in a residential tower.
The Director General of Police Operations praised the woman's quick reflexes and good behavior when she noticed a child climbing onto the window of an apartment in the building opposite, threatening his life. She quickly notified the police, who immediately arrived at the scene.
In detail, Colonel Ghaith Khalifa Al Kaabi, Head of the Comprehensive City Police Station, stated that a report was received by the operations room from an Arab woman, stating that a two-year-old child was in a dangerous situation on the edge of the balcony. A patrol immediately responded to the scene, and it was discovered that the child had climbed onto the edge from a high altitude using a chair while his parents were distracted and without any supervision or monitoring of the child's actions, posing a danger to his life. Colonel Ghaith Al Kaabi added that, in the context of ensuring the safety of children and in compliance with Federal Law No. 3 of 2016 on the Rights of the Child in the UAE, and in compliance with child protection and safety, the child's parents were summoned and legal action was taken against them after it was proven that they were negligent and jeopardized his life. The head of the city's comprehensive police station emphasized the importance of ensuring safety measures in homes, especially in high-rise apartments with openable windows, to ensure the safety of children and protect them from the risk of falling. Furthermore, children are a great responsibility and a trustworthy responsibility, and neglecting their care or leaving them unsupervised leads to legal accountability under the UAE's child rights laws.
