Ajman Police require delivery bike drivers to drive in the first and second lanes on the emirate's roads.
In an effort to enhance the safety of motorcycle riders and other road users and
reduce accidents resulting from the unsafe use of motorcycles, the Ajman Police
General Command has decided to require delivery motorcycle drivers to drive only in
the first and second lanes on the right, and to refrain from using the third and fourth
lanes on the emirate's roads. The Ajman Dar Al Aman surveillance camera system,
smart gates, and specialized patrols will detect any violations, failure to adhere to the
right lane, or any violations between vehicles that may threaten the safety and security
of road users.
Over the past few years, Ajman Police has conducted extensive awareness campaigns
targeting delivery companies and motorcycle drivers with the aim of enhancing traffic
safety and reducing accidents related to delivery motorcycles. Ajman Police has been
keen to educate drivers about the need to adhere to traffic laws and safe driving.
Ajman Police warned against committing traffic violations, most notably overtaking,
overtaking on the shoulder, failing to adhere to the mandatory lane, and failing to
leave sufficient distance between vehicles. They urged adherence to traffic regulations
and safe driving, stressing that they would not tolerate any violations that endanger
the lives of road users. They noted that the Federal Traffic Law imposes a fine of
AED 500 on violators.
