Ajman Police Receives the Sustainability Mark "Word and Deed"
In a new achievement added to its record of institutional and community accomplishments, the Ajman Police General
Command has received the "Word and Deed" Sustainability Mark. This recognition recognizes its effective and
distinguished efforts in implementing initiatives that support the Year of Sustainability 2024, declared by His Highness
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, may God protect him. The goal is to inspire society
to adopt sustainable practices that ensure a better future for future generations. The Year of Sustainability 2024 is
overseen by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential
Affairs, and Her Highness Sheikha Mariam bint Mohammed bin Zayed, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for
National Projects. His Excellency Major General Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of
Ajman Police, emphasized that the leadership has placed great importance on the Year of Sustainability by launching
several pioneering initiatives. These include the "Our Sustainable Reserve" initiative, which planted 100 mangrove trees
in the Al Zorah Reserve, and the "Our Sustainable Marine Environment" initiative, which included a comprehensive
clean-up campaign for Ajman Marina in cooperation with strategic partners and with the participation of professional
divers and volunteers from Ajman Police. The innovative "Sadeem" project also won the Best Environmental
Sustainability Project Award in the Green Applications category of the "Arab Ideas Award." Furthermore, the
leadership's efforts to promote green transportation through the use of eco-friendly vehicles and electric bicycles, along
with initiatives to rationalize water and energy consumption and encourage conscious agriculture and sustainable
consumption, were also highlighted. His Excellency noted that Ajman Police issued its annual sustainability report in
accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and in compliance with the United Nations Corporate
Social Responsibility (UNGC) principles. The report reviewed the leadership's efforts to promote sustainability across
various policing, social, economic, and environmental fields. These efforts culminated in Ajman Police receiving the
ESG Sustainability Award at the International Best Practices Awards in New Zealand 2024, affirming its commitment
to translating the Year of Sustainability theme, "Word and Deed," into a tangible reality. Concluding his statement, the
Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police expressed his thanks and appreciation to all officers and employees for their
tireless efforts and effective contributions to this achievement, affirming the leadership's continued support for
initiatives that enhance quality of life and serve both society and the environment.
