Ajman Police Deploy 55 Traffic Patrols to Secure Roads During Eid Al-Adha
Lieutenant Colonel Rashid Humaid Bin Hindi, Deputy Director of the Traffic and Patrols
Department at Ajman Police, confirmed the readiness of 55 traffic patrols as part of an
integrated field plan aimed at securing traffic and enhancing safety during Eid Al-Adha in
the emirate. He explained that the Ajman Police General Command adopts a well-thought-
out mechanism to regulate the deployment of patrols, based on analyzing data related to
population density and traffic volume, to ensure flexible and rapid deployment of patrols in
congested areas, such as markets, shopping malls, parks, and public squares. Surveillance
cameras are used to monitor vehicle movement to determine deployment locations, taking
into account sensitive periods such as rush hour and Eid prayers, especially near prayer
areas.
He pointed out that this intensive deployment contributes to controlling improper traffic
behavior and enhancing rapid response to accidents, which increases the level of safety
among community members and reduces the time required to report any traffic or security
incident. The plan also focuses on protecting the most vulnerable groups, such as the
elderly, children, and families, by securing vital sites and facilitating pedestrian crossings,
especially around mosques and Eid prayer grounds. Bin Hindi confirmed that Ajman Police
utilizes modern surveillance technologies that enable immediate communication between
field teams and the operations room, ensuring rapid intervention in any emergency. He
emphasized that these efforts directly impact the public's sense of security and enhance the
effectiveness of the traffic system in protecting all segments of society.
He pointed out that the holiday period typically witnesses an increase in traffic density and
movement, which requires high security preparedness. He noted that field indicators over
the past years in Ajman have proven the effectiveness of traffic patrols, demonstrating a
positive public response and greater adherence to laws, reflected in a clear decrease in
traffic-related accidents and reports. He also pointed out that the awareness campaigns
implemented by the Ajman Police General Command, along with the traffic officers'
keenness to treat the public in a respectful manner, have effectively contributed to
consolidating the concept of preventive security and enhancing confidence in traffic patrols
as a supportive body for the security and safety of society, not just a regulatory body. He
pointed out that this positive interaction from community members has led to increased
rates of compliance with laws and a reduction in traffic violations, which has contributed to
creating a safe and stable environment during special occasions. He explained that traffic
patrols will begin their field deployment from the early hours of the morning of the first
day of Eid, as part of an integrated readiness plan aimed at ensuring smooth traffic flow
and enhancing protection for all road users.
