Ajman Police launches the "Safe Crossing Heroes" initiative to raise awareness among children about run-over accidents.
The Comprehensive City Police Station at the Ajman Police General Command has
launched an awareness initiative titled "Safe Crossing Heroes." The initiative aims to
educate children and their parents about safe road crossing methods and educate them
about wrong behaviors that could threaten their safety and expose them to run-over
accidents. This initiative is part of Ajman Police's efforts to raise traffic awareness
and enhance security and safety in the community. Colonel Ghaith Khalifa Al Kaabi,
Head of the Madinah Comprehensive Police Station, said the initiative aims to instill a
culture of traffic safety in children from an early age through field and interactive
awareness programs. These programs help reduce the rate of run-over accidents
resulting from common misbehaviors, such as children playing in the streets and on
sidewalks, or parents' negligence in supervising their children. Captain Hamad Ali bin
Zaal Al Muhairi, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Branch at the Madinah
Comprehensive Police Station, added that the station's work teams carried out field
campaigns on roads and public places, during which awareness leaflets were
distributed to parents and children. The leaflets contained a digital barcode with
detailed material explaining the requirements for safe crossing for children, followed
by another barcode designed to measure the extent of benefit and satisfaction with the
initiative.
