As part of Humaid bin Rashid's initiatives, the Sheikh Zayed Road Development Project in Al Helio, Ajman, was inaugurated.
As part of the initiatives of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member
of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, the Ajman Municipality and Planning
Department, in cooperation with the Ajman Police, inaugurated the Sheikh Zayed Road
Development Project in the Al Helio area. The project extends 2.8 kilometers and costs a
total of AED 63 million.
The project embodies the commitment and dedication of the Ajman government, under the
leadership of His Highness the Ruler of Ajman, and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh
Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive
Council, to achieving a modern infrastructure that keeps pace with the demands of
population and urban growth in the emirate, contributing to enhancing the quality of life
and supporting comprehensive and sustainable development in various regions.
The project is part of the Department's efforts to improve and develop the emirate's
infrastructure, in line with the objectives of Ajman Vision 2030, which aims to build an
integrated and sustainable transportation system.
In this context, Dr. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, Executive Director of
the Infrastructure Development Sector at the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department,
emphasized that the project aligns with integrated infrastructure development plans,
enhances traffic flow, and supports the strategic goal of improving the efficiency and
quality of transportation and infrastructure projects in the emirate.
Al Muhairi explained that the project aimed to develop Sheikh Zayed Road in the Al Helio
area by adding a traffic lane, increasing it to three lanes in each direction. It also included
the implementation of a rainwater drainage network, the installation of lighting poles, and
the organization of sidewalks and parking spaces.
He pointed out that the project also included the construction of two intersections equipped
with traffic signals to regulate traffic in the area, contributing to enhanced traffic safety,
especially since the project was implemented in a vital area that witnesses continuous
traffic around the clock. For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Fouad Yousef Al Khaja, Head of
the Traffic and Patrols Department at Ajman Police, explained that the project will
contribute to improving traffic flow in the Al Helio area, enhancing ease of movement and
ensuring a safer and smoother driving experience for road users.
Al Khaja noted that the project will alleviate traffic congestion and improve daily
transportation efficiency in the area, particularly on the roads leading to Emirates Road and
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.
It is worth noting that the project was designed according to the highest international
standards for intersection construction, ensuring easier and safer access to desired
destinations.
