The Ministry of Interior launches its A Day Without Accidents initiative to enhance traffic safety.

The Ministry of Interior, represented by the Federal Traffic Council, and in coordination with all police leaders in the country, launched its pioneering traffic initiative, "A Day Without Accidents," to coincide with the launch of its quarterly "Safe School Year" campaign. August (25), 2025, marks the first day of the new school year. This initiative aims to enhance awareness of the concepts of safety, prevention, and traffic protection for all road users. The initiative aims to reward those who adhere to the pledge and refrain from violating traffic laws, particularly wearing seat belts, not exceeding speed limits, giving sufficient distance, respecting pedestrians' right of way and safety, avoiding distractions other than the road, particularly using mobile phones, and giving way to emergency vehicles, ambulances, police, and official convoys. The initiative includes community participation in promoting traffic awareness by participating in a special pledge via the link (https://portal.moi.gov.ae/eservices/direct?scode=716&c=2). Once the instructions and pledge are complied with, (4) traffic points will be deducted for those registered before (25) of this August. The deduction of points will be implemented electronically on (15) of September (2025), without the need to visit service centers. Brigadier Engineer Hussein Ahmed Al Harthi, Chairman of the Federal Traffic Council, emphasized that this initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enhance traffic safety by disseminating and highlighting traffic messages, requirements, and laws designed to enhance the road environment and safety and protect lives and property.
