Partial Opening of Al Hamidiya Bridge Project on Sheikh Zayed Road in Ajman
As part of the initiatives of His Highness the President of the UAE, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure partially
opened the Al Hamidiya Bridge Project on Sheikh Zayed Road in Ajman to traffic today, Saturday. The project was
attended by His Excellency Eng. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Undersecretary of the Ministry, His Excellency
Abdulrahman Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, and a number of
officials from the Ministry and the Department.
The project is part of an integrated plan for sustainable improvement and is part of ongoing efforts to develop
infrastructure and improve the efficiency of the road network in the Emirate of Ajman. This supports comprehensive
development goals, enhances the quality of life in the emirate, and keeps pace with urban growth and the increasing
traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road.
Work has been completed on the 1,100-meter-long bridge, which includes four lanes in each direction and overhead
lighting. Work continues on the lower intersections, sidewalks, parking areas, and rainwater drainage, in addition to the
road linking Sheikh Zayed Road to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, and the bridge connecting Sheikh Mohammed
bin Zayed Road. All work is expected to be completed by the end of this year. The project will help alleviate traffic
congestion on Sheikh Zayed Road and improve traffic flow. It also aims to reduce travel time by 60%, facilitating
access to residential and service areas connected to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, as well as Al Hamidiya and
Al Rashidiya areas, as well as vital facilities such as the currently under construction Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed
Hospital and the Zayed Educational Complex in Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed City.
Ajman Police have made significant efforts to facilitate traffic flow and regulate movement throughout the project's
implementation phases through continuous field coordination and the implementation of effective traffic plans. This has
contributed to ensuring smooth vehicle flow and minimizing the impact of construction work on road users.
