Workshops and lectures launched for the "Beginning of Hope" initiative to promote the integration of released inmates into society in Ajman.

The workshops and introductory lectures for the "Beginning of Hope" initiative at the Ajman Punitive and Correctional Institution have begun. The initiative aims to empower released inmates and their families to start their own businesses, contributing to their positive integration into society and enhancing their family and economic stability. The initiative, held in cooperation with the Ajman Department of Economic Development, is part of the framework for activating aftercare for inmates after their release. This initiative grants inmates free business licenses for small projects, helping them start a new life based on self-reliance and productive work. Colonel Mohammed Mubarak Al Ghafli, Director of the Ajman Punitive and Correctional Institution, emphasized that the "Beginning of Hope" initiative represents a practical translation of the directives of the wise leadership to empower inmates and enhance their positive role in society after their release. This initiative aims to reduce the rate of institutional recidivism by offering quality programs that support the rehabilitation of inmates and ensure their stability, thus achieving the goals of the UAE's correctional and humanitarian system. He added that the partnership with the Ajman Department of Economic Development represents a pioneering step in the field of economic empowerment of inmates, as it opens new horizons for them to integrate into the labor market and start their own businesses in a legal and organized manner. For his part, His Excellency Saif Ahmed Musabah Al Suwaidi, Director of the Ajman Department of Economic Development, explained that the department supports various segments of society in their journey towards entrepreneurship. He pointed out that granting free licenses to released inmates represents a pioneering community initiative aimed at supporting economic stability and providing real opportunities for self-regeneration. He emphasized that the department will provide beneficiaries of the initiative with advisory and training services in the areas of financial planning, feasibility studies, and small business management, to ensure the sustainability of these projects and achieve tangible results that contribute to the development of the local economy. The lectures addressed the steps for establishing small businesses, the mechanisms for obtaining economic licenses, and the importance of a culture of self- employment in achieving social integration. They also presented inspiring examples of the success stories of former inmates who were able to build new lives through their own businesses after their release. At the conclusion of the event, the initiative's organizers emphasized that "A Beginning of Hope" represents a true nucleus for building a better future for released inmates and their families, reinforcing the values of compassion, solidarity, and productive work upon which the UAE's correctional system is based. They called for continued cooperation between government agencies and community institutions to support this segment of society, achieving community security and sustainable development.
