Ajman Police Launches “Our Summer is Safe and Secure” Initiative to Enhance Prevention and Safety During the Summer Season

The Ajman Police General Command, represented by its Media and Public Relations Department, launched the “Our Summer is Safe and Secure” initiative to raise community awareness and promote preventative behaviors during the summer season. This initiative aims to protect lives and property and ensure safe and enjoyable times for all members of the community. Lieutenant Colonel Noura Sultan Al Shamsi, Head of the Media and Public Relations Department at Ajman Police, emphasized that the initiative stems from Ajman Police's commitment to promoting a culture of prevention and disseminating awareness messages that align with the demands of the summer season, especially with the increased popularity of travel, swimming, and outdoor activities. She noted that the initiative targets various segments of society through the dissemination of digital awareness and preventative guidelines. She explained that the initiative includes a range of tips and guidelines related to public safety, including preventing heat stress and dehydration, as well as promoting road safety by ensuring vehicles are roadworthy and regularly maintained. It also aims to raise awareness among families about safety procedures at swimming pools and beaches, such as constantly supervising children and not leaving them unattended, ensuring pools are securely locked to prevent unsupervised access, providing rescue and first-aid equipment at designated swimming areas, and being aware of water currents while swimming at beaches. The initiative also includes warnings against dangerous behaviors associated with summer, such as leaving children inside vehicles or leaving flammable materials and electronic devices in cars exposed to sunlight. It further emphasizes the importance of keeping electrical appliances away from swimming pools to avoid the risk of electrocution. Lieutenant Colonel Noura Al Shamsi pointed out that the initiative reflects Ajman Police’s commitment to its awareness and community role, stressing that prevention is the cornerstone of maintaining the safety of individuals. She also called for adherence to preventive guidelines and benefiting from the awareness messages provided by Ajman Police through its various platforms, wishing everyone a safe and happy summer, embodying the initiative’s slogan “Our Summer is Safety and Security”.
